The Queen Bees Podcast with Esther Coles and Jane Horrocks

Many gardeners will be interested in beekeeping and this podcast is a hugely entertaining and fun way to introduce yourself to this fascinating pastime.  With guests such as Alan Titchmarsh and Paul Whitehouse and episodes titled Naked beekeeping or Streaker bees you can be sure these aren't your regular lessons on the centuries old tradition of apiculture.     They say  "Bee-keeping and a good old catch up, as Jane Horrocks calls up her friend Esther Coles; actress, writer and bee-keeper, to have a weekly chat checking in on Esther's bees as well as each other. Sometimes they might even allow a guest to join the fun!"

UK Gardening Podcasts

Anyone starting out on their horticultural journey as well more experienced gardeners who will enjoy Penny's fun approach to gardening . Brought to you by former BBC business journalist Penny Haslam who presented on BBC Breakfast, News Channel, Radio 4 and Radio 5 Live. I particularly like the line on her website " Do you need professional gardening tips and advice? You're in the wrong place!" You immediately think 'this should be fun!' and it is.  She says "MY GARDEN PODCAST is for have-a-go gardeners who love real gardening. Mic the Gardener with                       Mike Palmer

Mike Palmer is best known for his hugely popular instagram channel where he talks every week to well known gardening personalities. His regular Sunday stroll around his own garden is also a date worthy of your diary. I recently turned the tables on Mike and he became the subject of his own show. As for his podcast he says 'Join Dorset garden designer Mike Palmer for discussion with horticulturists, gardeners and enthusiasts on the roots of our personal gardening culture.'

Talking Dirty by Get Gardening

They say 'Get Gardening's podcast for plant lovers is jam-packed with choice plants. Hosts Thordis and Alan Gray (of East Ruston Old Vicarage gardens) catch up with their horticultural (or should that be naughty-cultural!) friends to talk about what they're growing, their latest FLOMO (Floral FOMO) and answer your questions'.

On the Ledge with Jane Perrone

Jane Perrone presents probably the most comprehensive houseplant podcast on the web with a friendly supportive facebook group and hordes of passionate followers. Now winging her way towards 200 episodes Jane is also crowd funding a houseplant book project that you can join in with at her website below.

With hosts Chris Collins (ex Blue Peter gardener) and Sarah Brown both from Garden Organic (previously Ryton) this podcast has all the right ingredients for anybody wishing to garden in a wildlife friendly and sustainable way. They say 'Inspiration to help you garden the organic way, with advice, tips, and interviews from the UK's leading organic gardening organisation.

Gardening with Ben

Host Ben Cartwright has set himself a challenge to post something new each day on his social media channels. He says 'Come and join Gardening with Ben down on his allotment sharing tips, advice and tales from down at the plot'.

Trowels and Tribulations

Join hosts, Phil, Sarah, and Faith as they discuss subjects as diverse as moss balls, carnivorous plants, and gin and jam. They say we believe that gardening and being outdoors should be fun and no nonsense. The best way to do that? Sit three Northerners around a microphone to share a podcast of their adventures.

Sow,Grow, Repeat with Jane Perrone and Alys Fowler

One of the early adopters of the format and many of us cut our little poddy teeth on this podcast. An old favourite that is sadly no longer recorded but Alys and Jane make a fantastic duo with rare chemistry, knowledge, and enthusiasm for their wide ranging subjects. In no way dated and still highly recommended.

The Garden Log with Ben Dark

Ben gives his take on 'slow radio' with his soporific tones (in a good way!) and articulate presentation style. A weekly update from a garden he is lovingly maintaining and improving this podcast is peppered with historical references and deep knowledge from an enquiring mind. Ben was the winner of the Alan Titchmarsh new Talent Award presented at the garden media Guild Awards ceremony at The Savoy in London in 2018.

With diverse topics ranging from worms to the paranormal Sarah has taken the gardening podcast world by storm. Winner of The Garden Media Guild Broadcast of the Year 2019 and with superb guests, Sarah's enquiring mind make this weekly podcast an absolute must for your playlist.

The Sodshow with Peter Donegan

If he wasn't so young Peter would be known as the grandfather of podcasting. Starting in 2010 and with 439 shows Peter has interviewed, in his unique style, some of the top designers, writers, and gardeners in the game. Sadly no longer running his back catalogue is still available  for us all to ENJOY.

Skinny Jean Gardener with Lee Connelly

Host Lee Connelly, aka The Skinny Jean Gardener,  deserves a medal! Encouraging children to garden with his successful 2020 school tour and new book, Blue Peter gardener and  speaker Lee is a live-wire in the horticultural community. Funny, light hearted, sometimes controversial, but always upbeat, his lively shows will appeal to a younger demographic but with numerous top-tier guests there's something for everybody.

Fresh from the Pod with Tamsin Westhorpe

Join Tamsin as she travels throughout the UK on gardening adventures meeting inspirational people such as Chris Bearshaw, Sir Roy Strong, and Toby Buckland.  Tamsin is joint chair of The Garden media Guild and runs and maintains Stocktonbury Gardens in Herefordshire. A beautifully produced podcast from the lovely gardening app people at Candide. Highly recommended.

Gardens, Weeds, and Words with Andrew O'Brien

The podcast we all wish we'd made; that's how I describe Andrews O'Briens  beautiful  podcast. With a gentle enquiring approach to his subject he combines field recordings from the garden with well considered thoughts on all aspect of horticulture. With reference to literature and first hand experience Andrew also shares writings from guest readers and interviews experts in a broad field of interest.
